This month we hosted a team from Hungary. We were really blessed by the help that they provided during the day with some of the major repairs that were needed before winter was upon us. Mainly repairing a external wall that was water damaged. We also took the time to cut down some trees in the backyard so that next year we can have a place to plant a garden without it being shaded.
The main highlight though was the 2 day VBS outreach we did for the kids around the neighborhood. The team did a fantastic job of teaching, games, songs, and a bonus water balloon throwing contest for the kids who were allowed to throw water balloons at Pastor Brian, Jarrod, Jeremy, and Tamas, from the team. Its amazing to see how kids you know will line up to get a chance at throwing water balloons at you. On a final observation about the balloon throwing incident, when a water balloon does not break, it like being struck with a paint ball, consequently the next morning Brian was covered with bruises. We had parents who we had never had an opportunity to talk to come and find us the next day and ask if we were going to do a VBS program again. Because their children did nothing but talk about how much fun they had and wanted to do it again. Next year if the team comes again from Hungary we are going to plan the VBS for a whole week.

On a more serious note. This month Brian and some people from the church went and visited a man and his seven children ages 8 down to 4 months old. The man had recently lost his wife to a tragic accident involving a semi truck accidentally running her and 3 of their children over. The 3 children escaped without a scratch but the mother carrying the baby was killed instantly all of this happened right in front to the father who could do nothing. Some in the church heard about what had happened and wanted to take some things for him and his family and pray with him. It was amazing to sit and talk with this young man. I was amazed at his response to this tragedy, he was a believer and a strong one. Just listening to him tell how God had comforted him and encouraged him that he was going to take care of him and his young family was humbling. He had people offer to move him and his family to Austria, give him a job, someone to take care of his young children, and a house. And his response was that he appreciated what they were trying to do but that he wanted to wait and see what the Lord wanted. If you can remember to pray for this family the man's name is Marian Ganea, he is from Cosbuc about an 1 hour away from Bistrita.

Prayer requests:
Pray for the Ganea family in Cosbuc, who recently lost their wife and mother.
Please pray that the truths that are heard in the midweek studies and sunday mornings would be not only understood but that they would prayerfully come alive in the hearts of the people here.
Prayer for the Lord to raise up young men, who are like minded and like hearted to catch a vision for reaching their country and planting churches in Romania.
Prayer for a Calvary Chapel to be planted in everyone of the 20 cities over 100,000 in populations in Romania. That God would pour out his Spirit upon this country.
Prayer for those who attended the new believers class, that God would both equip and give them boldness as they reach out into the community.
Prayer for the men's retreat that is coming in the fall. That God would anoint Brian and place in his heart the things that are needed for the men.
Prayer that the VBS outreach would stir in the hearts of the kids that came a desire to know Jesus personally and that their parents would also be drawn.
