Spring Update 2013

Spring was a little later then normal this year but with the temperatures steadily rising, flowers blooming and the sound of people working in their gardens as you walk by their houses, all of the signs are there. Spring has finally arrived. This season has to be one of my favorite times of the year honestly. I love the colors, the smells, I love walking and seeing the flowers and the trees budding, meandering through the outside markets and seeing strawberries for sale. Spring also reminds me of Easter, in Romania we celebrate Easter according to the orthodox calendar, which means that for this year, its on May 5th.

Which also means spring cleaning. The weeks before easter, are usually very busy in preparation for Easter. Everyone is deep cleaning their houses preparing food, extending invitations to friends and family. planting their onions, garlic, spinach, cabbage all of the early spring vegetables.

In all of this craziness the significance of Easter can easily be lost with all of the business. This spring we had the privilege of hosting a team from North Carolina, who came and spoke on the necessity of sharing the gospel with everyone. Over a weekend it was such a blessing to see the passion of fulfilling the great commission being shared within the church and seeing those within the church responding and going out and handing out tracks and sharing the good news with those in the city center and the park. Our prayer is that we would continue to build upon this foundation in the weeks and months to come in the body of Christ in reaching not only our local community but the surrounding areas also.

It was wonderful to observe how the things that were being shared in the conferences were reinforcing the principles that we have studying in the weekly discipleship class. Our prayer is that these things would move beyond principles to study and understand to actually becoming apart of who we are as a church and what our purpose is.

This spring Brian also hand the opportunity to attend speakers week at the bible college in Hungary, this is where missionaries and pastor's are invited to talk with share with the college students. Please pray that as Brian shared with the students at the college that God would lead young men to plant churches in Romania or to at least be apart of a church plant in Romania.

We are currently hosting a team from the bible college for a 10 day outreach. Please pray that God would bless their time here with the different ministries that we are involved with.

Prayer request:

May 5th for the other half Christianity is the Orthodox Easter. Please pray as we prepare for the celebrating the single greatest event to ever happen. Please pray for different outreaches that we are doing leading up to Easter. Pray that God would give those in the church divine appointments to share the good news with everyone that they meet and to have boldness and wisdom.

Pray for the hearts that have been given gospel tracts and have been shared with concerning the good news over the last couple weeks. Pray for the word to find soft hearts and that they respond.

We thank the team from North Carolina for coming and giving a solid foundation on how to share the gospel with people. We pray that this would be a turning point in the lives of many of those in the church in sharing the with those around them.

Pray for Kaidon and Sedona who have some instrument competitions for school coming up. That they would do their best and bring glory to God with the gift that he has given them.

Pray for the Brian trip South of the country to teach a parenting conference for one of the Calvary Chapel's. Pray for wisdom and the anointing of God and for those attending to have open hearts.

Prayer also for the pastor's conference coming up in June. Please pray that God would really minister to the pastors in Romania and that they would be not only refreshed but given new vision for reaching their local communities and country.
