May 2007 Update

Mat 16:15 Then Jesus asked them, "But who do you say I am?"

That was the theme verse for this year's Calvary Chapel Romania National conference. We had close to 90 people take time out of their busy schedules and drive up to the center of Romania for this annual conference. The theme that was chosen, "Who Is Jesus", was a great subject for the main sessions. We had 2 invited speakers come from America and bless us from the word. The 1st night we heard from Ken Sutton, Ken has planted churches in Romania, England, and the states and was a real blessing to hear from. The other speaker was Bob Caldwell from Calvary Chapel Boise. He spent most of his sessions really speaking on the Love of God towards his church. The topics that were taught on where right on the mark for what is really is needed for a country that is so caught up on dead tradition and legalism. It was great to hear what the Lord wanted to say to his churches in Romania, how He really loves us and wants us to just believe Him and trust Him for everything. We are excited to see the lasting fruit that this word brings to the body of believers in the Romanian Calvary Chapels.

The Weather was great during the days with very warm weather followed by really awesome lightening storms at night to cool things off. The kids had a great time playing on a trampoline and through God's grace no one was injured

Overall the conference was a great time of refreshing and refocus before the busyness of summer arrives with the local conference and concert outreach this summer.

The Last thing for this month to inform you of is that it is with great sadness that we are losing Natalie Bridges for the summer. She will be leaving Romania June 4th to travel back to the states for the summer to tie up loose ends and prepare for returning to Romania for a longer stay. We already miss her, she has been a great help in the ministry here and has had a great attitude in serving the body and the city of Bistrita in many ways. We are looking forward to her coming back in September ready to pick up where she left off. Please keep her in prayer as she travels back to the states for a short stay.

Praise reports:

We were able to reserve the cultural center of Bistrita for the concert outreach on Aug 11th.

Prayer Requests:

  • Prayer for Natalie on her return to the states as she ties up loose ends develops personal support for her return in September.
  • Prayer for the logistics for the concert, the people needed, finances required it is going to cost 1500 euros for the day please keep this in prayer.
  • We are also needing to find some band equipment, which we have not had to much luck yet. Please pray that we will be able to locate it and use it or rent it.
  • Pray for the Foundations conference that is coming up in Hungary this June. That it will be a blessed, challenging time for all of us.
  • Pray for Equipping the saints conference in July for Bistrita. We are having Ernest Updike and Ethan Larson come and share from 1 Cor 13, the chapter of love. Please prayer for the lord to guide their hearts in what the body needs to hear here.
  • Prayer for the city of Bistrita that we will see the Lord pour his spirit out in a fresh, new powerful way.
  • Pray for the things that were shared at the conference to sink deep into those who attended and to bring forth fruit in its time.
